Role Overview
As a Business Strategy Intern from Rutgers University, you will work directly with Gen Auto’s leadership team to help shape the company’s strategic direction, finalize our business and commercialization plans, and prepare materials for stakeholders including investors, federal agencies, and industry partners. This internship is ideal for business, finance, or MBA students eager to learn how deep-tech startups navigate funding, markets, and federal innovation programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the refinement of business model canvases, go-to-market strategies, and competitive positioning.
- Collaborate on updating financial models and SBIR commercialization documents.
- Research emerging trends in autonomous mobility, safety regulations, and AI policy.
- Assist in pitch deck development and investor readiness for upcoming grants, demo days, and strategic partnerships.
- Contribute to customer discovery efforts, especially within the AV, robotics, and infrastructure sectors.
- Help align our business plan with key national strategies, including Executive Orders on trustworthy AI and connected vehicle safety.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Pursuing a BS in Business, Finance, or related field, or currently enrolled in an MBA program.
- Strong writing, research, and presentation skills.
- Interest in autonomous systems, AI safety, or emerging technology policy.
- Familiarity with business modeling tools (e.g., Lean Canvas, SWOT, TAM/SAM/SOM).
- Bonus: Experience with SBIR/STTR proposals, federal funding strategies, or investor outreach.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in early-stage startups or tech venture ecosystems.
- Knowledge of AI regulation, autonomous vehicle market dynamics, or standards like ISO 26262.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and contributing to high-stakes planning and execution.
